MIKHAILOV, Boris. Viscidity.

(New York, NY): PPP Editions, 2020.  First edition.  Large quarto.  Unpaginated.  The first publication of Mikhailov’s photographic series, Viscidity, that were completed and sequenced in Kharkov in 1982.  The photographs are reproduced here at their original scale with the accompanying Russian text translated to English.  The volume includes Mikhailov’s essay  “I was walking through a field,”  which was written specifically for this edition and illuminates the history of the work.  Illustrated throughout.  A near fine copy, crease to front endpaper, with blind-debossed frontispiece in a fine dust jacket.  Housed in a silkscreened cardboard mailer.  Published in an edition of 500 numbered copies, signed by the photographer.  A beautifully produced book.
