(SOLD): MEISELAS, Susan. Prince Street Girls 1976 – 1979.

(New York, NY) TBW Books. First edition. Quarto. Published to accompany the exhibition of Meiselas' photographs at Higher Pictures, April – June 2017. The amazing photographs document the daily lives of a group of local Italian-American pre-teen girls, who in the mid-1970s made the corner of Prince Street and Mott street their stomping ground. Meiselas was able to capture the girls’ social interactions and the synergy of their tight-knit group, some of whom were also related. The book is an intimate and sprawling view of the girls’ (collectively known as the Prince Street Girls) formative years in an ever-changing city. A near fine copy, small bump to bottom corner, in wrappers with integral flaps.
