(SOLD): MATOS, Johnny “CRASH”. GAS (Graffiti Art Success for America).

(New York, NY): Fashion Moda, [1980].  Rare poster for the first graffiti exhibition at Fashion Moda, a gallery opened by Stefan Enis in the Bronx after becoming weary of the SoHo art scene.  The gallery became instrumental in providing a platform for both Downtown artists and the burgeoning hip-hop and graffiti movements.  The exhibition contained work by Crash, Disco 107, Futura, Lady Pink, Noc 167, Stan 153, Zephyr, and others.  The poster measures approx. 38cm by 28cm and is in near fine condition.  A nice copy of this rare and important poster for one of the earliest gallery exhibitions of graffiti art.
