KNIPPENBERG, Theo & Patty. Kralingen ’70 ‘n grote blijde bende.
(Utrecht): Self-published, 1971. First edition. Oblong 8vo. Scarce and sought after photo-documentary of the festival-goers at the Kralingen Pop Festival, Rotterdam which was held over three days in June 1970. Billed as the European Woodstock, the event attracted over 100, 000 visitors, many climbing the fences or swimming the river to get into the event for free. Sponsored by Coco-cola, 220, 000 cans of coke were consumed during the three days. Headline acts included, Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, T-Rex, the Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Fairport Convention, Country Joe, Mungo Jerry, Santana, and many others. This is a good example of the rare photo-book documenting the festival goers in 170 black and white photographs. Wrappers with additional staples at spine.
