CROWLEY, Aleister. Hymn to Pan.

Elephant folio. “Hymn to Pan” was written during Crowley's visit to Moscow during the summer of 1913, and represents one of his most powerful and invocative works. It was first published in 1919 in The Equinox, Volume III, Number 1. The edition here is accompanied by ten silkscreens by Andre Durand re-interpreted from chalk drawings he made in 1978. Durands powerful images in the European Hermetic tradition, are printed on BFK mould-made paper with four colour mezzotint separations with over-lays handworked by the artist. Each print is titled, numbered and signed by the artist and embossed with the printers chop. The prints measure 23″ by 17.5″ and are housed in the publisher's handmade solander box. Published in an edition of 75 numbered examples (and ten Artist Proofs). Rare.
