BOSCHE, Susanne. Jenny Lives with Eric and Martin.

(London): GMP Publishers Ltd., 1987.  Second impression.  Quarto.  60 pages.  A simple child’s book that describes a few days in the life of a five-year-old named Jenny, her father, Martin, and his boyfriend Eric who lives with them. Jenny’s mother Karen lives nearby and often visits the household.   The volume is illustrated with photographic plates.  Perhaps the first English-language children’s book to discuss homosexuality and as such gained some notoriety being categorized as homosexual propaganda by the tabloid press with the Sun running the headline The Sun ran a front-page headline; “Vile Book In School: Pupils See Pictures Of Gay Lovers”.  In the United States in the 1990s, Heather Has Two Mommies became a similarly politicised book.  A near fine copy in stapled wrappers.  A nice copy of this important work.
