(London): Black Dog Publishing, 2009.  First edition.  Quarto.  279 pages.  Introductory essays by Will Hill, Dave Beech and Charles Harrison.  A nice survey of the use of the written language in art.  The volume traces the relationship between language and art from the early experiments with pictorial poetry, Futurist typography, Cubist collage through conceptual practices to the present day.  Illustrated throughout including examples from Richard Prince, Christopher Wool, Cy Twombly, Ed Ruscha and many many more.  A near fine copy in boards without dust jacket as issued.
