(SOLD): ARCENEAUX, Edgar. 107th Street Watts.

(Frankfurt): Revolver Archive fur Aktuelle Kunst, 2003. First edition. Two volumes. A conceptual photography project shot in the dense historic battleground of Watts, California. Performing the type of clinical overlay of the street in the manner of Ed Ruscha and his well-known mappping of the “Sunset Strip” of 1966, 107th Street, Watts formally mimics Ruscha’s book by presenting every building on 107th Street (the location of the historic Watts Towers) in a seven foot photomontage. Near fine copies housed in publisher’s slipcase. Published in an edition of 1000 copies, although scarcer than the limitation would suggest.
