Dickson, Ian. Notre Dame / Sex Pistols 1976.
(Brighton): Self-published, 2006. First edition. Deluxe edition. Copy number 5 of an unspecified edition number. It is believed that the edition is fewer than 10 the publisher having discontinued the series because of production costs and time. Comprises seven, silver gelatine, hand-printed, photographic prints of the Pistols at the recording of their “No Fun” TV Special filmed at the Notre Dame Assembly Hall, in Soho, London on the 15th of November, 1976. The gig was set up to be filmed for Janet Street-Porter’s London Weekend Show. The audience included Shane MacGowan, Joe Strummer, Toyah Wilcox, Poly Styrene, TV Smith, Siouxsie, Jamie Reid, Vivienne Westwood (who danced on stage unaware that the gig was being filmed), and also, one Nancy Spungen. Each print measures approx. 10” by 12” and is signed by the photographer, mounted and housed in a polyester viewing sleeve. Includes ‘Hired Gun’ the photographer’s story of his time as a freelance rock photographer. All items housed in a hinge box with cover decoration by Ray Lowry. A fine copy of this superb item.
